Linzhibin

BIOGRAPHY

Linzhibin (b. 1987, Guangdong, China) lives and works in Guangzhou.

Drawing from classical traditions and a deep sensitivity to form, Linzhibin transforms everyday objects into quiet meditations on time, existence, and perception. Working primarily in oil on canvas, he composes atmospheric still lifes where muted tones and subtle textures suspend fleeting moments between reality and reverie. His restrained language balances precision and softness, evoking a familiar and elusive world.

Influenced by Giorgio Morandi’s introspective vision and shaped by a philosophical inquiry into materiality and memory, Lin’s work invites viewers into a dialogue with light, surface, and the passage of time. His paintings blur the boundaries between the animate and inanimate, between human presence and natural order, offering a contemplative space that transcends observation.

Lin received his BFA (2011) and MFA (2015) from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, studying under Guo Runwen. His work has been exhibited at major institutions including the National Art Museum of China, Guangdong Museum of Art, and Zhejiang Art Museum, and has earned him honors such as the Gold Prize at the First Guangdong Youth Art Exhibition (2012) and the Bronze Prize at the 12th Guangdong Art Festival (2014).

Lin’s paintings are held in museums and private collections worldwide. Through his nuanced treatment of stillness and substance, he redefines the quiet power of painting in an increasingly accelerated world.
