Qingchuan, an artist based in Beijing, is celebrated for her unique fusion of natural science and contemporary art. With a degree in Chinese Literature from Capital Normal University, she embarked on her painting journey in 2014 and apprenticed under the esteemed scientific biological painter, Mr. Zeng Xiaolian (曾孝濂), in 2017. From 2018 to 2021, she was a contracted artist for National Geographic China Edition.
Growing up immersed in nature, Qingchuan developed a profound love for the natural world, with a particular focus on the intricate details of flora and fauna. Her early work in Scientific Biological Painting culminated in the publication of "Butterfly: Hand-painted Observation Notes of Rare Butterflies in China" (蝶影-中國珍稀蝴蝶手繪觀察筆記) in 2022.
Qingchuan’s current series, " Tides of Life," delves into the integration of animals and human forms, blending surrealism and naturalism with a female perspective. Her art emphasizes the symbiotic relationships in nature, aiming to reconnect viewers with its beauty. Inspired by her outdoor adventures and knowledge of natural science, she combines mythological and spiritual metaphors from various cultures to reflect on both unconscious and tangible realms.
Amidst the rapid pace of modern life, Qing Chuan's art offers a sense of peace and interconnection, continuing to inspire with its fresh exploration of nature's wonders.
