BIOGRAPHY

Diao Shuo, born in 1984 in Beijing, grew up surrounded by art and creativity. Influenced by his father's career as an illustrator, he was immersed in the world of painting from a young age. Diaoshuo’s formal training began at the Beijing Practical Arts Vocational School, from which he graduated in 2004, followed by earning his Bachelor’s degree in Oil Painting from the Capital Normal University in 2008.

Diaoshuo’s work is celebrated for its purity, elegance, and ability to evoke a sense of serenity and nostalgia. His paintings often feature lush landscapes, delicate flowers, and lively birds, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that offers a refuge from the chaotic world. Viewers have described his work as capturing the sound of flowers blooming and the warmth of sunlight, conveying an idealized vision of peace and contentment.
Strongly influenced by Van Gogh, Diaoshuo shares an admiration for the emotional intensity in his use of color and expression. However, he has crafted his own unique style, focusing on a softer, more tranquil portrayal of beauty in everyday life, which has garnered attention from collectors in China and abroad. A recurring theme in his work is the sparrow, which symbolizes freedom and resilience, reflecting his love for nature and the small joys it offers.
As a member of the Beijing Artists Association and the Beijing Collectors Association, Diao continues to explore new creative horizons, offering viewers a glimpse into his heart and artistic vision.
